DJ Smooth P acquired his love for music production through teaching himself to play the keyboard at the age of 14. He commenced his studying of production at his local community hub where he learned to reproduce the sounds of the music he loved so much. After creating a business plan and successfully securing funding from The Princes Trust and Barclays Bank he set up a recording studio with a friend in Tower Bridge, London. They placed an ad in The Stage Newspaper and set to work recording tracks for up and coming artists. Freelance consultancy work then followed with work with major recording companies such as Virgin and Sony Records, alongside projects including Jagged Edge and Alexandra Burke. Over the last few years DJ Smooth P has been involved in writing TV/film and advertising music. His compositions have featured in fashion shows, online adverts, TV shows and a Hollywood movie called ‘November Rule’ produced by legendary female rap icon, Queen Latifah.
